 Fernando Goderich Fabars
My name is Fernando Goderich Fabars

Fernando      I was born November 1, 1969 in Santiago de Cuba.  At a very early age I had the first signs of my vocation in plastic arts. At 4 years of age I earned my first prize in a drawing class where I was until the age of 11.
      In 1980,  I entered the  Academy of  Plastic Arts - Jose Joaquin Tejada,  where I was chosen to attend, ( not without being put to an aptitude test - of 40 boys who attended only 7 of us were accepted in the academy). Here I began my  professional education in all the branches of  Plastic Arts, that is to say, sculpture, painting, engraving, drawing, etc;
      It is from here that I began to develop my artistic concepts in all the scopes of Cuban and universal painting;  being in the academy I participated in several exhibitions and events of plastics and in 1984 I gained my first mention in a painting contest. In this academy I studied until 1988, the year in which I discussed in my thesis of graduation in the engraving specialty developing my work in the engraving technique on stone (Lithography). This thesis consisted of a personal exhibition titled " Action and sub conscientious
development " with this I obtained the title of Professor of Drawing and Engraving. This personal exhibition was held in Galleria de Arte Universal, situated in Vista Alegre.
Months later I found out that this exhibition was totally sold in Germany in a fair of Graphical Arts. I did not obtain absolutely anything from this sale, although it paid for my studies in the academy.
      From 1988 to 1989 I worked an entire year in the decoration and design of  Baconao park (in equipment) making fences of propaganda and presentation of projects.
      From 1990 to 1992 I studied for my Superior Institute Pedagogical Frank Pais Degree in Plastic Arts, at this time I was working as an independent artist when the Pan American Games and Del Caribe 1991
began, I was in charge of equipment that projected and designed the localities and centers of festivities in the reopening of  Heredia street, obtaining all type of successes.
      From 1993 to 1997 I worked with the Department of Municipal Culture and for the Cultural Athenian; Antonio Bravo Correoso of which I am a founding member and I still belong.
      In 1996 I made on theses premises a painted mural of  which were made many photographic reviews. Since then, time and bad care destroyed it completely - only the pictures remain. In this same year I made
for Spain, specifically for the Athenian Confluence's, of Barcelona, a small personal exhibition, also this
year I  designed the dinner menu of the Hotel Casa Granda in its re-inauguration.
      In 1998 I began to work as graphical designer in Editorial Oriente where I am working at the moment, developing  works of design. I have worked on illustrations in more than one hundred books and in three
editions of the magazine SIC.
      At the moment I am working on my fourth personal exhibition in which I plan to illustrate the almost  20 years of artistic learning.
